Like a hiker going deep into an unknown wilderness on a quest, with our backpack filled with our own stories, we have ventured back into the stories of our ancestors.
As we explored the migrations, experiences, and lives of our family back through the generations we came across particular places that were important in the long journey of our family. These are places are where family lines merged, and where economic, cultural, religious, social, and geographical influences nourished and shaped the family. In these different phases of our family’s journey, the land and the people were bound together in a particular era and left an indelible mark on us.
In this section of The Kitchen Table we will be offering a look at those Cradles of the Family, a look at the land and the society of the time.
